Every year on during the Halloween season, the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks hosts the Safer Halloween event for children of all ages to stroll the village of Fair Oaks, visit the local businesses, and 'trick or treat' their way to receive candy and books from local rotarians.  Of course, this wouldn't be nearly as much fun if our volunteers didn't 'get dressed' for the occasion to make the day frightful and fun!
This year, the event occurred on October 30th, and was held in conjunction with the Monster Mash Midway organized by the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District, which was staged at the new Village Park Plaza in the middle of village of Fair Oaks.  While children roamed the streets around the park visiting candy and book booths, the park was filled with ghoulish games, eerie entertainment and spooktacular photo ops.  And speaking of spooktacular photo ops, we has some good ones of our rotarians dressed their parts, as they entertained the children who wandered around with their parents for this event.  The premise of this event is for local children to have a safe place to play 'trick or treat' and gather as much candy as they can.  Yes, books are given out also as we don't want too much sugar to rule the day!  This event is near and dear to all Fair Oaks rotarians that participate, as we love to see the smiles and faces full of glee as they visit with our volunteers!  We can't wait until Safer Halloween, 2026 to do it all over again!
