About Michele: Michele Zumwalt lives in Folsom, California where she and her husband, John, raised two daughters, Sarah and Katie Zumwalt. They are active in the recovery community and Michele’s the author of Amazon’s #1 Hot New Release book, “Ruby Shoes: Surviving Prescription Drug Addiction.” Michele has served as a Law Enforcement Chaplain in Sacramento County where she’s done far too many overdose death notifications. She knows first-hand the tragic toll this crisis is having on families. “Ruby Shoes” was written with one purpose in mind, helping people. For every 100 books sold, they are able to donate 50 books to recovery homes, prisons, rehabs, etc. to help raise public awareness of what the US Surgeon General calls the #1 public health crisis of our time, the opioid epidemic. Michele and her family have done presentations on the opioid crisis for the International Overdose Awareness Day Rally at the California State Capitol, Sacramento Women’s Expo, UC Davis Hospital, and medical schools. As a family they’ve traveled the country and internationally to do book signings at Barnes & Noble bookstores, libraries, hospitals, Medical Conferences, churches, recovery facilities, and police departments. Michele has worked for Princess Cruises as an Enrichment Lecturer to share hope all over the world. She’s also been featured on national programs like the CBS Evening News and NPR’s Morning Edition, K-LOVE, and numerous other local and regional news programs.

Days for Girls Menstural heath management is a human right. Days for Girls is an international organization geared to making reusable pads for girls. However, it is not just about the kits; they also provide education on body changes, self defense and human trafficing. Karen is a team leader of a local chapter. She will be sharing about the organization, local contributions and the work being done to try and meeting the needs of 500 million girls so they can protect themselves and remain in school. Julies purse project It is a passion project I started in the fall of 2015 and now a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit organization. The initial mission was to give back to those in need during the holidays. It has since grown into a year round non profit organization collecting new and gently used purses and filling the purses with essential items that women would want or need in their purses if they were starting over with nothing. Please note the menu change. There will be a yummy dessert included! Innerwheel spaghetti feed fundraiser Jerrod Sieberg from DMV will talk on driving issues as we age. He will bring plenty of fliers and information on programs the DMV has to help aging drivers. At the meeting Inner wheel will be doing a wine raffle as they have done in the past. They have 12 $20 value bottles of wine all wrapped up and in one bag with a bottle of wine is a $50 Amazon Gift Card. They will be selling tickets during the social hour starting at 6, and then again right before the raffle closes near the last part of the meeting. They will announce the winners who will come up to the table and pick their bottle of wine, and the lucky person will win the $50 gift card!!!

While the Rescue works to save Golden Retrievers that have been abandoned or relinquished by owners who don’t want them anymore, NorCal Golden Lovers Sac is a network of Golden owners who share enthusiasm for their dogs, for creating friendships, and helping the community by collecting items of need for unhoused children and veterans.
